Vernissage Küsnacht ZH, Switzerland January 16, 2016
While covering Occupy, Julia started photographing street artists and hoola hoopers who used their art as part of their political protest. She continued that work while she traveled through Brazil covering protests and social issues surrounding the 2014 FIFA World Cup and in New York. Some of these photos are being shown in a vernissage for private collectors in Küsnacht near Zürich. Parts of the proceeds of the vernissage are donated to Fundacion Avanzar which supports underprivileged women and children in Cuenca – Ecuador. Avanzar’s programs aim to support and empower individuals to improve their quality of life and develop in a sustainable, positive and tangible way.
